My Friend Pedro: Ripe for Revenge is a 2D action game where you control a mysterious character whose only goal in life is to help Pedro, a friendly banana whose wife and children have been kidnapped. Yes, a banana. To successfully complete your mission you'll have to make your way through complicated levels full of gangsters who are ready to kill you if you try to find your friend Pedro's family.
The controls in My Friend Pedro: Ripe for Revenge have been perfectly adapted to touchscreens, simplifying them slightly in respect to the PC and console version, but maintaining the same feel as in the original. By sliding your thumbs from the corners of the screen you can make your character jump from one side to another. When you're in the air and there are enemies within your sights, time will slow down and you'll be able to shoot just by tapping the screen. This is how you'll have to try to shoot down all the gangsters in each level, in the most spectacular way possible.
The levels in My Friend Pedro: Ripe for Revenge are relatively short, lasting anywhere from twenty seconds to just over a minute. As you progress, as usual, the difficulty level will increase. At first you'll only have to worry about one type of enemy and the way to kill them will be very direct. But gradually, you'll discover new enemies and you'll have to get used to shooting them through glass, using pans to bounce the bullets, and so on.
My Friend Pedro: Ripe for Revenge is an outstanding action game in its own right, successfully transferring the frenetic experience of the original to Android. It is important to note, however, that the game uses an ingenious system of 'checkpoints' that you can only use if you buy the game. That said, this is definitely a good idea if you enjoy the game.
